An alert should be important information that I need to know right away, not something that can wait until get to watch the news.

I like the app but having to watch a 30 second commercial for WGAL every time you watch a clip is crazy. Some of the clips are half the length of the commercial. And besides that, you are loading up commercials to people who already like you enough to download the app. Whats that about? Only thing you can accomplish at that point is frustrating your loyal watchers who are so busy they have to watch on an app. At least on TV the commercials are only 30% of or time. The app is at least double that, probably more. Let an employee sit and use the app now and then. At the least, only blast the ads at people outside of the countys IP address range. Otherwise, thanks for the news.

Wgal 8 used the be a worthwhile app but has morphed into an ad bearing annoyance with little news content. Sister NBC stations such as WBAL have the same app. Ive switched to another stations app. Unless I become dissatisfied there, Ill not bother to try this app again. Sorry, since WGALs local tv news is quite good. For national news Charlie is the best, Matt L causes me to change channels. Id rate this app a zero, not worth the space it consumed on my phone. Im gone.

The app used to be better, notifications only when there was very important information & I could read what I wanted in the app instead of being directed to the website. Now, Im getting notices after 10pm about Basketball & flight crash in Russia? Either give us some options of types of notifications we actually want or go back to only ACTUAL emergencies, please.

Cut back on the annoying alerts keep the alerts for really important breaking news. Not every little thing.

Better but not much. Alerts not really news that needs an alert. Then I see things are news that I didnt get an alert for. Repeats the same story over n over a lot of not news stories. Hard to separate junk from news.

The app works fairly well and has good information. My only real criticism is that when alert comes through, the story takes fairly long to hit the app. If I do not see it as a notification, I have to wait to see it live on the app.

I like the app for opening links for news, and watching news on my iPhone, but it would be great if Hearst would upgrade all of their apps so you could either Air Stream it to Apple TV or create an Apple TV app. If I try to use Air Stream I always get video, but no sound. When things like the tornado happens, it would have been great if I could stream the news on something other than my iPhone so I could how close the damage was to my friends and family. The only app that works consistently is the app for Channel 11 in Pitt.

I like being informed on what is going on around the world and locally. Thanks.

App is updated frequently enough. News are usually old; tend to linger too long after they are posted.

Overall app is good. However WGAL does not update the app over the weekend. You get notifications but when you open the app, the story isnt there. They need to keep the data current, news doesnt stop on the weekend.

Articles should be separated into written and videos. I hate when I click on something expecting to read an article and I get a video. I dont want to watch a video all the time because I might be in a waiting room or public space. I also really hate it when you a have a see the top 10 reasons for... And then it takes you to another page. I want a forecast I can read when I open the app. 80 degrees today with a chance of showers. Overall, poor quality app.

Just like the news they actually report over and over. They repeat the same stories over and over every hour on the hour. I dont ever watch the news with them, i just change the channel and the app is just as bad. Breaking news reminders come through but the story is not ready on the app!! Deleted it!

Very good app.,a lot of bugs were fixed. I like the alert notice,of an important event!
